About Michael

Michael Engel is a graduate of the University of Toronto (St. Michael's College) who received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1979. He articled for Arthur Maloney, Q.C. and spent eight years as an Assistant Crown Attorney at Toronto's Old City Hall before entering private criminal defence practice in 1988. For the past two decades he has focused his practice exclusively on defending DUI cases, and has argued appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
