Michael A. Johnston is a criminal and quasi-criminal litigator who advocates before juries, judges, appeal courts, and administrative tribunals, having appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada. He frequently relies on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, obtaining exclusions of evidence including firearms found under problematic warrants, breath samples from flawed impaired-driving arrests, and statements taken in violation of the right to counsel. His practice ranges from shoplifting to murder charges. Michael completed his articles with Greenspan Humphrey Levine in Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2010; he is Certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Criminal Law. He is fluent in Spanish and conversant in French.
