About Maurice

Maurice is the senior partner at the firm and a criminal defence lawyer who has argued cases before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Summary Conviction Appeal Court. He previously worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney and as a police officer, experience that gives him insight into how investigations and prosecutions are built and negotiated. He successfully argued Canada's first case involving a murder charge tied to terrorism, and has handled cases with difficult evidentiary and legal issues, particularly in murder and attempted murder matters. Alongside his criminal practice, Maurice has represented clients in family law cases for over thirteen years, bringing his courtroom experience to that work as well.
