About Matthew

Matthew Nied is a Vancouver lawyer and the principal of Nied Law, Litigation Counsel. Before founding his own firm he spent nearly a decade at two of Canada's leading national business law firms, most recently as a partner. His litigation practice covers corporate and commercial disputes, contract disputes, real estate disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, and tort claims including negligence, fraud, and defamation, and he has experience with mediation and arbitration. He has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia and before various tribunals and commissions. Before entering practice he clerked for seven judges of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He received the Allan Parker QC Award for Representation Services in 2022 for his pro bono work representing disadvantaged and marginalized individuals.
