About Marianne
Marianne Lithwick is an immigration and refugee lawyer and the founder of Lithwick Law. She represents individuals before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada, advising on sponsorship applications, humanitarian and compassionate applications, and pre-removal risk assessments. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015, holding a J.D. from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law (Cum Laude) and a B.A. Honours from McGill University in International Development. Before founding her practice, Lithwick articled and worked at community legal clinics in Ottawa, advocating for low-income individuals' tenant rights and disability income, and provided pro bono services with the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program. During law school she received the Shirley E. Greenberg Women and the Law Fellowship and worked with the West Coast Women's Legal Education and Action Fund. She is an Executive Member of the Refugee Lawyers Association of Ontario and chairs the Immigration and Refugee Board Consultative Committee.
