M. Kathleen Kinch

About M.

Kat Kinch is the senior partner and founder of Kinch Eddie Litigation, working across court advocacy and dispute resolution. She holds a degree from McMaster University's Arts & Science programme and a law degree from the University of British Columbia, where she was named one of Maclean's 'Best and Brightest' scholars and won the Raymond G. Herbert award for top all-round graduate. She spent a year as a judicial law clerk at the British Columbia Supreme Court, then practised at a large Vancouver litigation firm from 2006 to 2014, handling civil litigation, regulatory matters, and family law disputes, and she served as co-counsel in Canada's first modern polygamy prosecution. In 2014 she returned to her hometown area and established her litigation practice in Campbellford, where she now represents clients in the Superior Court of Justice and before administrative tribunals on matters spanning estates, employment law, zoning, and municipal disputes. She is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education events on evidence, estates procedure, and family law, and she volunteers with Westben, the Trent Hills Heritage Advisory Committee, and the region's Economic Recovery Task Force.
