About Louis-V.

Louis-V. Sylvestre was called to the Bar in 1977 and has been in private practice since 1982, focusing on administrative, environmental, and urban and regional planning law with an emphasis on agricultural land resources. He pleads cases, provides legal advice, and negotiates matters related to agricultural zoning throughout Quebec. He has served on several Barreau du Québec committees, including its standing committee on environmental law from 1995 to 2013 and its committee on administrative law from 1994 to 2013, and joined the Bar's liaison committee with the Tribunal administratif du Québec in 2002. He has authored four volumes on municipal and agricultural law that have been cited by courts including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has lectured in administrative law as it relates to property at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Law for 30 years. He holds the title of Advocatus Emeritus (Ad.E.), an honour granted by the Barreau du Québec, and since January 2025 has acted as senior counsel for Ratelle Ratelle & Associés.
