Counsel at Libertas Law
Lisa D.S. Bildy graduated from Western Law School in 1993 and practised as a trial lawyer with a small litigation firm before an extended hiatus to raise and homeschool her sons. On returning to full-time practice, Lisa Bildy challenged the Law Society of Ontario's compelled Statement of Principles, arguing it was not the regulator's place to dictate lawyers' personal principles, and led the successful StopSOP campaign to elect law society benchers committed to repealing the requirement. Lisa Bildy worked as a staff lawyer at the Calgary-based Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms beginning in 2019, before starting Libertas Law in the fall of 2021 to focus on defending civil liberties and individual freedoms in Canada. Lisa Bildy is a member of the Board of Advisors of FAIR, the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism, and is an elected bencher of the Law Society of Ontario.
