About Leonard

Leonard E. Seidman has been President of Seidman Avocats Inc. since its inception in early 2016, having previously been a partner at Seal Seidman, G.P., which he joined in 1974. He was admitted to the Bar of Quebec in January 1974 and to the State Bar of California in June 1979, and was authorized to practice before the U.S. District Court in April 1984. His commercial litigation career has included pleading before all the courts of Quebec and the Federal Court of Canada, and three successful appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada, in Soucisse v. National Bank (1981), Farber v. Royal Trust (1997) and Miller v. Canada/Monit International (2001). In 2004 he was named to the Bar of Montreal's Ad Hoc Committee on Costs, chairing its subcommittee on financing litigation, and he received the Bar of Montreal's Merit Award in 2005 for that work. He has served for more than 45 years on committees of the Bar of Quebec, the Bar of Montreal, the Canadian Bar Association and the Lord Reading Law Society, and since November 2019 has also served as Senior Counsel to the Pinto Legal law firm.
