Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionLawrence David is an associate lawyer at Consumer Law Group, trained in both common law and civil law through McGill University's combined BCL/LLB program, with a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School. Before joining the firm he worked in several legal and policy roles across the federal government, including as judicial law clerk to Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella at the Supreme Court of Canada and a clerkship at the Quebec Court of Appeal. He has worked on complex class action litigation against the Government of Canada, including settlement strategies addressing intergenerational injustice against Indigenous peoples, and teaches part-time as a law professor at the University of Ottawa. He is the author of a monograph on stare decisis in the Supreme Court of Canada and co-author of the Halsbury's Laws of Canada volume on Civil Damages.
