About Laura
Laura Shylko practices tax law in Alberta and California, with more than 15 years of experience advising Canadian businesses. She began her career in securities law before moving into tax and has since practiced at a top-tier national law firm and two of Canada's leading boutique tax law firms. Laura holds the TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation, completed STEP Canada's Diploma in Trusts and Estates in 2023, and completed CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Course. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2005 and admitted to the California bar in 2021, and has chaired the Canadian Bar Association's Tax Law and Young Lawyers sections in Alberta North. Laura lives in Edmonton.
