About Katie

Katie Olson is an associate at Trippier Law practicing civil litigation with an emphasis on Indigenous law and labour and employment law. She advises federally and provincially regulated employers and unions on discipline and termination, workplace policies, contracts, collective agreement interpretation, and human rights issues, and has appeared before all levels of court in Manitoba as well as Human Rights Tribunals and Federal Court. She represented CFS agencies and children in care in a landmark case that struck down provincial legislation wrongfully claiming Children's Special Allowance benefits, resulting in a $530 million settlement. She was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2021 after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2020.
