About Katherine
Katherine Tomaszewski, known as Kathy, grew up on a farm near Centralia, Ontario, and studied law at the University of Western Ontario, working summers in tax and litigation at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in Toronto. Katherine Tomaszewski graduated with the gold medal for the highest average in the class at Western and clerked for the late Chief Justice Bora Laskin at the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa, before completing a graduate degree at Harvard Law School. Katherine Tomaszewski then spent ten years as a tenured law professor at Western, teaching and publishing in constitutional, corporate, commercial, securities and secured transactions law, and consulted for the Ontario Securities Commission and the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Before joining Bezaire Hemeryck McAllan, Katherine Tomaszewski practised corporate and commercial law remotely for a Toronto firm, and has also been extensively involved with private education and support for individuals with learning and developmental challenges. The current practice focuses on business law and commercial transactions.
