About Kat
Kat Kumka holds a BA in Psychology, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Social Work, which she completed concurrently with her Juris Doctorate. She brings nearly a decade of experience in clinical mental health settings with children, youth, and families to her family law practice, and completed joint articles at two boutique family law firms in Toronto. Kumka represents clients on a range of family law matters, including complex financial issues arising from separation or divorce, and takes a client-centred, child-focused, trauma-informed approach. Prior to practicing family law, she provided individual therapy and developed a Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills group for adolescents, and has written social histories for youth justice matters involving bail, sentencing, and dangerous offender hearings. She is a registered social worker.
