About Jonathan

Jonathan Mackenzie is a lawyer and notary public in Toronto whose practice centered on corporate and commercial matters, including franchise law and labour and employment law. He advised law firms, franchisors and franchisees, and regulated health professional associations on legal, policy and strategy issues, and taught Canadian Contract Law as an instructor with Osgoode Professional Development. From 2011 to 2019 he practiced insurance defence and personal injury litigation, representing both injured persons and major insurers before the Superior Court of Justice and Divisional Court. He later worked as Corporate Legal Counsel at a major Canadian real estate franchisor, focusing on franchise, employment and intellectual property law. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from York University and his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2011.
