About Jonathan

Jonathan Pyzer is the founder and lead counsel at Pyzer Criminal Lawyers, which he established in 2002 with Ian Kostman. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 2002 and restricts his practice to criminal and quasi-criminal defence, representing clients charged with offences ranging from assault and impaired driving to drug charges, fraud, and murder. He has argued numerous Charter applications on behalf of clients, including a racial profiling case, R. v. Ferguson-Cadore, in which the Ontario Superior Court excluded evidence after finding the police lacked lawful grounds to stop the vehicle. Pyzer also represents professionals such as doctors, nurses, and teachers before their disciplinary boards. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. with distinction from McGill University, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
