John Mickelson began his career in law in California in 1982 and returned to Vancouver in 1984 to open his own practice focused on personal injury claims. He has deliberately kept his firm small so he can remain personally accessible to clients, speaking with them directly and returning calls promptly. He has litigated injury claims arising from motor vehicle, motorcycle, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, slip and falls, occupier's liability and animal-related injuries, recovering millions of dollars for clients over the years. He is a member of the BC and Western Trial Lawyers Associations, the Canadian Bar Association and the Association of Surfing Lawyers.
