About Jodie

Jodie Primeau is the managing partner of Primeau Law, where her practice focuses on criminal trials and appeals. She has litigated extensively before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice, including high-profile driving cases in the Ottawa Valley and Kingston courthouses. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, where she volunteered with AIDWYC, the Elizabeth Fry Society, COSA and the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic. After law school she worked at the Ottawa firm Webber Schroeder Goldstein Abergel, then moved to Kingston, where she taught Clinical Advocacy at Queen's Law and served as Review Counsel for Queen's Legal Clinics. She founded the first student-led bail program at Queen's Legal Aid with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Kingston and served on its Board of Trustees. She is active on the executive of the Renfrew County Lawyers' Association, is a member of the Criminal Defence Lawyers' Association, serves as a trustee for the Renfrew County District School Board, and works as per diem duty counsel for Legal Aid Ontario.
