About Jeffrey

Jeffrey J. Gindin has practised criminal defence exclusively in Winnipeg since 1971, when he began as an associate at Walsh Micay and Company. His practice covers the full range of criminal matters, including drug charges, impaired driving, sexual assault, domestic assault, bail hearings, and homicide, with appearances in courts in Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Since 1978 he has also taught criminal law, trial advocacy, Charter issues, and a course on preventing wrongful convictions at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law. In 2017 the Criminal Defence Lawyers Association gave him an Award of Merit recognizing 46 years of practising criminal law in Manitoba. He holds the King's Counsel designation and a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba.
