About Jeffrey

Jeffrey Hamel is a civil litigator at Powell Litigation who has helped hundreds of clients navigate the legal system over more than a decade of practice. After studying law at the University of Western Ontario, he articled at a national firm in Vancouver, later acting as senior counsel in over a dozen trials and earning a national award for oral advocacy. He returned to Ontario in 2022 to apply that trial experience to a broad litigation practice. He also served 19 years in the Canadian Army Reserve, retiring as a Major after commanding groups of hundreds of soldiers and completing Command and General Staff College, and worked on national-level cyber defence and provincial disaster response planning.
