Dr. Jeffrey A. Talpis is a consultant, attorney and notary at Lazarus Legal. He studied at McGill University, where he received his Bachelor of Law, and at the University of Montreal, where he received his Master's and Doctorate of Law. Talpis is a professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Montreal, a member of the Notarial Bar of the Province of Quebec, and a practising notary, arbitrator and mediator. He has been cited in more than 204 decisions in Quebec and Canada since 1995 and has authored more than 250 scholarly articles on private international law, including security financing, matrimonial property law, estates and trusts, international litigation, and dispute mediation. He served as a Canadian delegate to the NAFTA 2022 Advisory Committee on International Private Commercial Disputes and continues to advise law firms, notaries and companies on cross-border business disputes.
