About Jeff

Jeff Hernaez handles commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, class actions, negligence claims, and real estate disputes, as well as judicial reviews of administrative decisions and statutory appeals. As junior counsel to Brent Olthuis KC, Hernaez acted for a director and shareholder in a derivative claim in Wilson v. G. Wilson Construction Co. Ltd. (2024 BCSC 1893) and represented a respondent in Sood v. Hans (2023 BCCA 138), an appeal concerning a certificate of pending litigation. Hernaez has also represented the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia in successfully striking out a civil claim, and regularly acts for regulated professional bodies in discipline and unauthorized-practice proceedings.
