About James

James Morrison is a partner at McDougall Gauley LLP in Saskatoon, practising family law, estate litigation, and civil litigation. He is a certified mediator, collaborative lawyer, and Qualified Arbitrator through the ADR Institute of Canada, and has extensive courtroom experience at the Court of King's Bench and the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. James has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in Saskatoon and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2016. He taught civil procedure, family law, and alternative dispute resolution as a sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan from 1989 to 2000. James earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan, in 1980 and 1982, and was called to the Saskatchewan bar in 1983.
