About J.

J. Andre Rachert is senior counsel in RAC Law Corporation's Tax Group and is among the most experienced tax litigators on Vancouver Island. He began his career as legal counsel in the Tax Litigation section of the Federal Department of Justice in Vancouver before moving to Victoria in 1998 to work as a tax specialist in the private sector, resolving income tax and GST disputes and acting as defence counsel in tax evasion cases. His practice also covers tax efficient corporate and estate planning, business sales and post-mortem estate variations, and he provides litigation support to other lawyers, accountants and financial advisors. Andre is a member of the Law Society of BC, the Canadian Bar Association, the Victoria Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation, has published several articles on tax procedure, and coaches the University of Victoria's Tax Moot Team.
