Immigration Law
Business & Corporate LawHugues Langlais is the founder of Cabinet Hugues Langlais and holds the Advocatus Emeritus (Ad. E.) distinction from the Barreau du Québec. He earned his law degree from the Université de Montréal in 1989 and was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 1990, and has practised exclusively in immigration and business immigration law since then. He has served as a foreign legal advisor to the Jin Mao firm in Shanghai since 2005. Hugues Langlais is a trainer recognized by the Barreau du Québec and teaches immigration law to law students, articling students, lawyers, notaries and graduate students in the Université de Montréal's specialized immigration diploma program. He co-directed the publication Droit de l'immigration et de la citoyenneté (Lexis-Nexis, 2022) and has authored several training manuals on business immigration, skilled workers, permanent residence and citizenship, and temporary stays. He previously served as an inspector with the Barreau du Québec's professional inspection service and has chaired the Barreau's Immigration and Citizenship Law Committee since 2004. He is regularly consulted by the media as an immigration law expert.
