About Gordon
Gordon Kirkby was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1985 and is a founding partner of Kirkby Law Office in Prince Albert. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) in Mathematics, graduating magna cum laude, and a Bachelor of Laws, both from the University of Saskatchewan. Before returning to full-time legal practice, he served as Mayor of Prince Albert and was later elected to the House of Commons, where he held roles including Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Chief Federal Negotiator. His practice focuses on Aboriginal law, including constitutional litigation, regulatory matters, specific claims, and Indigenous governance and business development, alongside a criminal defence practice. He has also served on the University of Saskatchewan Board of Governors and the Prince Albert Board of Police Commissioners.
