About Gerald

Gerald Swaye was called to the Ontario Bar in 1964 and opened his own firm in 1982. He was later appointed Queen's Counsel in recognition of his expertise, and his practice has centred on bodily injury and insurance matters. He has served as a bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1995 and has been named to The Best Lawyers in Canada in insurance law, personal injury litigation, and product liability law since 2011. He has also been active in the Hamilton community, sitting on the boards of organizations including the SPCA, the Hamilton Jewish Foundation, and the YMCA. Though he's stepped back from day-to-day practice, he remains available to Crannie Law's lawyers as a source of advice and mentorship.
