About Geoffrey
Geoffrey H. Dabbs is a founding partner of Gehlen Dabbs Cash LLP, with a practice focused on the litigation aspects of commercial and insolvency law, including bankruptcy, receivership, commercial tenancy disputes, and security recovery. Dabbs has appeared before all levels of court in commercial and insolvency litigation, including a precedent-setting case before the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of a bankruptcy trustee. Since the firm opened in 1998, Dabbs has also advised numerous housing co-operatives and related organizations, including the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC, on rules, occupancy agreements, membership terminations, governance, and financing, and acted as legal counsel in the development of the First Avenue Athletes Village Housing Co-operative. Dabbs is a past adjunct professor of insolvency law at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law and a guest instructor for the Law Society's Personal Property Security Act course. Dabbs earned an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia in 1989 and a B.Com. with distinction from the University of Alberta in 1986, and was called to the bar of British Columbia in 1990.
