Family LawGene C. Colman has practiced family law in Ontario since being called to the bar in 1979, and he founded his own firm, Gene C. Colman Family Law Centre, in 1995. His practice covers custody and access, spousal and child support, domestic violence matters, paternity, and prenuptial agreements. He advocates for a rebuttable presumption of equal shared parenting and takes on parental alienation cases where he believes the legal system hasn't responded with enough resolve. Gene studied international relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem before earning his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1977. Earlier in his career he was a partner at a Hamilton firm and a sole practitioner before joining a Toronto and Brampton practice and later a senior partnership in Toronto.
