About Françoise

Françoise de Cardaillac has practised as an avocate in Quebec for more than 35 years, focusing on family, civil, and commercial law. She has appeared before the Court of Québec, including its Youth Division, the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal, and various administrative tribunals, primarily in the Beauharnois and Montreal judicial districts. She served as Bâtonnière of the District of Richelieu from 2011 to 2012 and has represented many children and adolescents in family matters. She is an accredited mediator recognized by the Ministère de la Justice, the Barreau du Québec, and the Association de médiation familiale du Québec, mediating family, civil, and commercial disputes since 1993. She has run her own practice since 1998, after earlier years working with several other Quebec lawyers. She earned a Baccalauréat en sciences juridiques from UQAM in 1982 and her Bar diploma from the École du Barreau in 1984, and was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in March 1984. She wrote a book on divorce and family breakdown, published in 1991.
