About Farhad

Farhad Shekib arrived in Canada as a refugee from Afghanistan before building a litigation career that now spans employment law, estates disputes, real estate litigation, commercial litigation, and insurance disputes. He has represented major Canadian banks, insurers, and family-owned businesses in high-stakes disputes worth millions of dollars. In his employment practice he acts for both non-unionized employees and employers, handling wrongful dismissal claims, human rights disputes, and workplace investigations. His estates work covers will challenges, guardianship applications, and dependent support claims on behalf of beneficiaries, estate trustees, and attorneys for property and personal care. Farhad previously acted for some of Canada's largest insurers in insurance defence and directors' and officers' liability matters, and he now represents policyholders in coverage and professional liability disputes. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada for commercial litigation and labour and employment law. Farhad earned his law degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law before training at a large Bay Street firm and a mid-sized litigation boutique, and he went on to co-found Pinto Shekib LLP.
