About Emmanuel Oyesomi

Emmanuel Oyesomi founded Redstone Family Law and is its family lawyer, serving people in Red Deer and right across Central Alberta. A litigator and advocate by training, Oyesomi helps with divorce and separation, parenting and custody disputes, child and spousal support, the division of family property, and urgent protection matters.

Oyesomi's earlier work spanned several places: family law in Calgary, family law alongside civil litigation in Newfoundland and Labrador, and civil litigation outside Canada. That civil side included a spot on the legal team behind a class action settlement for victims of abuse. Once in Red Deer, the lawyer spent nearly two years carrying a busy family caseload at another family law firm.

The court experience is wide. Oyesomi has appeared in the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King's Bench in Red Deer, Calgary and Edmonton, and also in Wetaskiwin, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, on matters ranging from chambers applications and emergency protection hearings to trials. Plenty of family files settle, and Oyesomi has acted for clients in mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences and Judicial Dispute Resolution too.

Redstone grew out of a wish to pair polished legal work with the personal attention a family file deserves. For Oyesomi, a lawyer's first duty is knowing the law, because people lean on that advice at some of the darkest points in their lives, and every client should come away understanding their case, their options and where each one could lead. Oyesomi once sat on the board of End Sexual Violence, NL, and is working toward a part-time Professional LL.M. at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.
