About Duane

Duane R. Milot is a tax lawyer and the founder of Milot Law, which he opened as a tax boutique firm in 2011 after close to nine years practicing at large Bay Street law firms. He has advised individuals, small businesses, and multinational entities on tax matters since he was called to the Ontario bar in 2003, and he has been involved in complex, high-profile transactions and several notable tax litigation cases. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Tax Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeal. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002 and from the University of Ottawa in 1999. He grew up in a small francophone community in Northern Ontario and has lived in Toronto for more than 20 years.
