About Devika

Devika Penekelapati is a Founding Partner of Borders Law Firm and is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Citizenship and Immigration Law. She served as the firm's Managing Partner from 2015 to 2024 and represents clients on Canadian immigration matters before Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Immigration Appeal Division, and the Federal Court of Canada. She has extensive experience assisting corporations in bringing skilled workers to Canada through Labour Market Impact Assessments, NAFTA permits, and intra-company transfer applications, and has represented clients in complex situations including pre-removal negotiations before the Canada Border Services Agency, humanitarian and compassionate applications, and spousal and parental sponsorship cases. She holds law degrees from McGill University and the University of Ottawa, and is fluent in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, and Punjabi. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce.
