About David Young

David Young is a partner with SorbaraLaw in Markham, and the practice is all about residential real estate. Clients come from right across the GTA, from people buying their very first home to investors who've done many deals before.

Young handles home purchases, sales and refinances, and has built a specialty in assignments, pre-construction agreements and contract reviews. With clients, Young makes a point of calling back quickly and turning each legal step into plain language, so a deal feels manageable from the first review through to closing.

Teaching is a regular part of the work. Young often speaks to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board and to local brokerages, whether in person, online or on a podcast, and TRREB has introduced Young as one of its instructors. On a 2023 TRREB podcast, the partner walked listeners through how a pre-construction purchase unfolds, the dates that matter and the closing costs buyers should expect.

Young came to Toronto from Scotland. With a four-year honours LL.B. and a one-year post-graduate diploma, Young passed the Canadian equivalency exams and was called to the Ontario bar in 2016. Away from the office, there's a good chance you'll find Young out exploring York Region with two young sons.
