About David

David Searle has spent roughly a decade practising housing law and social justice law in the Montreal area. He spent seven years at the Centre de Justice de Proximité, where he helped more than 1,000 tenants and landlords resolve disputes and made more than 20 media appearances on housing law topics. He has led workshops for Quebec Court of Appeal research staff, for the Québec Bar's foundation, and for legal professionals through the Centre d'accès à l'information juridique platform, and has taught housing and social justice law courses at McGill University and UQÀM since 2022. His practice covers rent increases, lease terminations, evictions, repossessions, restraining orders, and involuntary psychiatric evaluations, and he occasionally accepts legal aid mandates.
