About Charles

Charles Newman is a partner serving as Co-Chair of the Banking & Specialty Finance Group at Cassels and is a member of the firm's National Major Projects team. His practice focuses on all types of secured and unsecured lending transactions, including cross-border transactions, project and infrastructure financings, syndicated loan transactions, debtor-in-possession financings, asset-based and real estate-based lending matters, and subordinated and convertible debt. He acts for Canadian and US-based private equity funds in cross-border investments and regularly acts on special account, work-out, security enforcement, and receivership files.
