About Chan

Chan Yeung Kang was the first Korean-Canadian lawyer to practice in Canada. He earned his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School and served as principal of C.Y. Kang Professional Corporation from 1981 until his retirement in July 2025, when he became an honorary member of Vista Law LLP. His career included directorships at Shinhan Bank Canada, the Ontario Gaming and Lottery Corporation, and the Metro and Korean YMCAs, and he founded the Christian mission organization Tentmakers' Ministry. His practice covered commercial and residential real estate, corporate and commercial matters, franchise work, charities and nonprofits, wills and estates, and notarization, including registering numerous churches and community organizations as charities with the Canada Revenue Agency.
