About Catherine

Catherine Montagne is a criminal defence lawyer based in Laval who practises exclusively in criminal and penal law. Montagne holds a law degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and began legal studies in 2001. Before qualifying as a lawyer, Montagne worked for several years as a paralegal at firms specializing in criminal and penal law. Montagne also served more than nine years as a reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces in the Montreal area. Montagne's practice covers impaired and dangerous driving, drug offences, sexual offences, fraud and theft, domestic violence, and youth criminal matters, and Montagne accepts legal aid mandates in youth court.
