About Carolyne

Carolyne Mathieu graduated from Université Laval in 1993 and has focused her practice on civil and family litigation as well as professional discipline law since being admitted to the Barreau du Québec. She began working in alternative dispute resolution in 2007 and now leads mediation files across Quebec and internationally, alongside her civil, succession and family law practice. She has taught financial services law at both the professional-certification and graduate levels and speaks regularly at conferences for practising professionals. Her professional discipline work includes representing professionals before disciplinary councils and committees and advising on compliance, and her succession litigation practice serves heirs, liquidators and estates alike. She also handles matters involving the protection of vulnerable people, including the opening of protective supervision regimes. Mathieu chaired the Barreau du Québec's Complaints Review Committee from 2017 to 2024, is a member of the Montérégie network of mediators and arbitrators, and serves as a civil and commercial mediator for the Court of Québec's small claims division.
