About Bren

Bren Cargill is a civil litigator focused on creditors' remedies, insolvency and restructuring, personal property security, priority disputes and security enforcement. He represents secured and unsecured lenders, court-appointed trustees and receivers, and distressed borrowers in debt financing matters, appearing before courts in Alberta, the Northwest Territories and beyond. Bren earned his JD with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2017 and was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2018 and the Northwest Territories bar in 2019. He speaks regularly for the Canadian Bar Association on bankruptcy, insolvency and judgment enforcement and volunteers with Civil Claims Duty Counsel. Outside the office, he enjoys reading, gardening, fishing, golfing and adventures with his young family and their dog.
