About Barry
Barry has practised in the insurance field since being called to the Ontario bar in 1983, litigating claims across personal injury, sexual abuse, life and disability, and institutional matters at all levels of court. He has been repeatedly listed as a leading defence practitioner in the personal injury field by Lexpert and recognized by Best Lawyers. In one memorable trial, he and an associate had only a month to prepare a jury action; after 17 days of trial built around a single credibility theme, the claim was dismissed with costs. Barry favours a collaborative, practical approach to resolving insurance disputes but will take a case to trial when needed. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 1981.
