About Andrew

Andrew McMurray is a family lawyer, barrister, solicitor and notary practising in Ottawa since 1992, focusing exclusively on family law for most of his career. His practice covers separation and divorce, as well as negotiating and drafting marriage and cohabitation agreements. Andrew emphasizes realistic expectations, and while he prefers negotiated or mediated resolutions, he also has substantial litigation experience when a settlement can't be reached with the other spouse. He has particular experience dividing complex assets, including pensions, business interests and stock options. His office is located downtown across from the courthouse, and he serves clients throughout the National Capital Region, including Kanata, Gloucester and Orleans. Andrew does not accept Legal Aid certificates.
