About Alan

Alan Brass received his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1990 and was called to the bar in 1992. He has practised criminal law since then, representing accused persons and building a reputation among peers for dedication and ethical integrity. He has taught at Carleton University's Law Program and instructed the criminal law component of the Bar Admission Course, and he has guest lectured at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and judged moot court. He was hired as a Special Prosecutor for Elections Canada. Before law school, Alan earned a Master's degree in Political Science and worked for a federal Crown corporation. He is active in community associations and has spoken to service organizations, seniors' groups and secondary school students about the role of a criminal lawyer.
