About Adrienne

Adrienne Smith is the founder and principal lawyer at Smith Immigration Law, focusing on LGBTQ immigration and refugee matters. She has appeared at every level of court, including the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, and received the Canadian Bar Association Founders' Award. Smith serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law and an Adjunct Instructor at Queen's University, and previously taught at Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of British Columbia. Before founding the firm, she was a partner at a boutique immigration law firm in downtown Toronto and worked as a strategic policy advisor at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
