About BR Law

BR Law is a small Vancouver firm, registered as Bram Rogachevsky Law Corporation, that practices exclusively in Indigenous law. Founder and principal Bram Rogachevsky has spent more than 20 years advising Indigenous governments and communities on Aboriginal rights and title, treaty negotiations, and self-government agreements, and acts as negotiator and legal counsel for First Nations at advanced stages of the British Columbia Treaty Process. The firm's four lawyers advise Indigenous governments, economic development corporations, and Indigenous-owned businesses on natural resource, commercial, and governance matters, including specific claims and reconciliation negotiations with Canada and British Columbia.

The team's backgrounds vary. One of the firm's solicitors has family ties to the Delaware Nation at Moraviantown in Ontario and focuses on economic development, natural resource project agreements, and governance drafting for Indigenous clients. Another lawyer has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada in Aboriginal title and membership disputes, after studying literature and cultural anthropology before law school and being called to the bar in both Ontario and British Columbia. The most recently called associate trained at the University of Exeter before joining the Law Society of British Columbia.
