Ashmead Law is a civil litigation firm in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, founded by lawyer Ryan Ashmead. The firm doesn't limit itself to one practice area: it handles real estate litigation, corporate and commercial disputes, administrative and municipal law, employment law, environmental law, and traumatic injury claims, along with wills, estates, and powers of attorney. Its two senior associates bring outside experience to that mix: Andrew Denhoff worked in the environmental and regulatory department of a large Canadian energy company before law school, and Audrey Yen's litigation practice draws on a background in corporate disputes, personal injury, and insurance work. On each file, the firm pairs a senior lawyer with a junior lawyer, so someone who knows the case is always available to return a client's call.

Ashmead earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2005 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2007, after articling at McCarthy Tétrault's Vancouver office and a stint as a securities and M&A solicitor. Ashmead later acted as lead counsel in Ralmax Properties Ltd. v. Pt. Ellice Properties Ltd. (Victoria Registry No. S183402), a trial the firm describes as one of the longest commercial trials in the city's history: it involved 27 witnesses, more than 1,000 tendered documents, and a dispute over industrial land along Victoria's Inner Harbour.
