About Pearson Criminal Law

Pearson Criminal Law is a sole criminal defence practice run by Bradley Robert Pearson, a Barrister and Solicitor whose LL.B. is from Dalhousie University, where coursework in Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Trial Practice set the direction for a criminal law career. Pearson articled with a busy criminal law firm and stayed on for 10 years before opening an independent practice in Thornhill, Ontario. The firm has since built more than 13 years of criminal defence experience, taking on cases that run the length of the Criminal Code, from shoplifting and drug trafficking to assault, sexual assault, robbery, and murder.

Pearson has stood as counsel in more than 40 Superior Court of Justice trials, about half of them before a jury, along with countless Ontario Court of Justice trials and bail hearings. The firm holds membership on Legal Aid Ontario's Extremely Serious Matters Panel and its Gladue Panel, which together let it take on the most serious Legal Aid funded cases and represent Indigenous clients under Gladue principles. Though the office is based in the GTA, the practice has appeared in courts as far as London, Pembroke, and Orillia, and a client who retains the firm works directly with Pearson rather than a student or associate.
