About Beigi Law

Beigi Law Professional Corporation is a small firm based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with its office at 9050 Yonge Street. It was founded by Dr. Shaghayegh (Shay) Beigi, who was licensed as a barrister and solicitor in Ontario in 2022 and holds a JD and a research doctorate from Queen's University Belfast, completed in 2019, along with a BA (Honours) from the University of Waterloo. Beigi's doctoral dissertation, titled "Ex Gratia to Ex Lege: A Normative Framework Facilitating Refuge beyond the Borders of Canada," examined legal frameworks for people displaced across borders, and Beigi has represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Federal Court of Canada.

The firm practices immigration and refugee law, family law, personal injury, and real estate. Personal injury files are handled by Sam Pitaro, of counsel to the firm, who was called to the Ontario bar in 1996 and now practices personal injury law exclusively, in English and Italian, covering claims from wrongful death and brain injury to statutory accident benefits disputes. On the real estate side, senior law clerk Christie S. has more than 13 years of experience closing residential purchases, sales, and mortgage refinances. Beigi Law's website also lists affiliated offices in other Canadian cities and in London and Johannesburg, though the Richmond Hill address is the only one it publishes in full.
