Semyonov Law is a criminal defence practice based in Newmarket, with a second office on Yonge Street in Toronto. The firm is led by Vladimir Semyonov, who holds a B.A. and an M.Ed. in addition to an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. After articling and working as an associate at McCarthy Tétrault, Semyonov spent two years at the London, England office of Baker & McKenzie, and later worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney in North York. Semyonov is licensed to practice law in Ontario, England, and Wales, and has focused exclusively on criminal law since returning to Canada in 2003. In 2005, Semyonov received the Legal Aid Ontario Client Service Award.

The firm's site notes that Semyonov has worked on legal assignments in 27 countries, gaining exposure to a range of legal systems and cultures. Semyonov is fluent in English, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese, with working knowledge of Italian and French, a language range the firm draws on with clients across York Region and Toronto. The practice covers adult and youth criminal matters, from bail hearings to criminal appeals, and it doesn't only take cases directly from clients: it also supports lawyers in other fields, such as commercial law, when a matter crosses into criminal or immigration law.
